Trying Injera in Ethiopia was honestly unforgettable. The texture is so different — airy, a little sour, but incredibly satisfying. Paired with spicy lentils or beef stew, it’s just perfect. What makes it special to me is how it brings everyone together at the table; it’s not only a meal but a social experience, something that makes you slow down and appreciate every bite.

In reply to <a href="https://mealsbymavis.com/injera-ethiopian-flatbread/#comment-259">Marguerite</a>.

Hi Marguerite,

I just responded to your comment on Pinterest. Thanks for leaving a review of the recipe. I love getting feedback from people. It helps me to work out any issues that others might be encountering with the recipe. I have an electric stove, so perhaps I should take that into account when giving instructions. It would probably be helpful for me to provide the temperature that the pan should be maintained at for best results. I'll test that out in the near future and I'll revise the recipe to let everyone know, so they can go by that instead of just setting the stove to medium heat.

As for posting pictures, I don't think the blog's theme allows users to do that in the comments. I'll have to contact the theme developers to see if I can change that on my end. You can add the pictures to the pin for this recipe on Pinterest, if you'd like.

I am overall pretty pleased with how they turned out. I would say cooking stage was a bit hit or miss. I used a crepe cast iron pan on a gas stove. Got a little too hot so had to pause while the pan cooled to finish cooking the last injeras. Recipe made 6 plate size and 1 small portions. Next time I will double it. They are not pretty bit very tasty. Would like to post a photo but not sure how to do that.
