Ingredients

  • 3 green unripened plantains
  • tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/3 cup canola oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350° F (175° C) and prepare a baking sheet by spraying it with cooking spray.
  • Remove the peel from the plantains. Cut each of the plantains in half and slice them into thin slices using a mandoline. Wash the plantains and season with 1 teaspoon of the salt.
  • Combine the garlic powder, onion powder, white pepper, the remaining salt, chili powder, paprika, and oil. Mix the ingredients together with a spoon until smooth.
  • Pour the seasoning on the plantains and mix gently, making sure that the plantains are evenly coated with the seasoning.
  • Line the plantains on the baking sheet and place the sheet in the oven to bake the plantains; you will likely need to bake the plantains in batches.
  • Bake the plantains on one side for 10 minutes then flip and bake them on the other side for another 10 minutes.
